A weekend of off-road driving can leave quite a mess inside your Toyota Tacoma. Mud gets tracked onto the carpet, wet boots leave marks around the pedals, and the rear footwells often end up just as dirty as the front. 3W all-weather custom fit floor mats help protect these areas, and you can simply remove them when it's time to clean up.
Finding the right set for your 2026 Toyota Tacoma takes a little attention, though. 3W provides different floor mats for hybrid and gasoline models, and the cab configuration matters too ([3])([4]). Let's look at the options for the TRD Pro, Trailhunter and other off-road trims, so you know what will fit your truck.
What do Toyota Tacoma Floor Liners Actually Protect?
Every set is backed by the 3W Lifetime Warranty, which covers the original purchaser for the vehicle the mats were installed in. The warranty is non-transferable and does not cover normal wear and tear, fading, scratches, accidents, or pet damage.
Which Floor Mats Fit the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro?
Shopping by model year alone could lead you to the wrong floor mats. The 2024-2026 Tacoma TRD Pro and Trailhunter both use Toyota's i-FORCE MAX hybrid system, which pairs a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor ([1])([2]).
On our site, we have separate floor mat listings for gasoline and hybrid Tacoma Double Cabs ([3]). The gasoline set is marked "Not fit Hybrid" ([4]), so for a TRD Pro or Trailhunter, our hybrid Double Cab mats are the ones you need ([5]).
Which Tacoma Off-Road Trims Need Different Floor Mats?
The Tacoma TRD Pro comes equipped with 33-inch Goodyear tires and hand-adjustable FOX QS3 shocks, along with up to 11.5 inches of ground clearance ([1])([2]). Compared with the standard i-FORCE SR5, it sits 2 inches higher at the front, 1.5 inches higher at the rear and about 3 inches wider ([2]).
These upgrades help the TRD Pro tackle rough terrain, but they don't affect which floor mats you need. For our Tacoma liners, the engine, transmission and cab style determine the fit. The table below shows how the different trims compare.
| Tacoma trim (2024+) | Powertrain | Transmission | Cab and bed | Compatible 3W listing |
| TRD Pro | i-FORCE MAX hybrid | 8-speed automatic | Double Cab, 5 ft bed | Hybrid Double Cab 2024 - 2026 [1][3] |
| Trailhunter | i-FORCE MAX hybrid | 8-speed automatic | Double Cab, 5 or 6 ft bed | Hybrid Double Cab 2024 - 2026 [1][3] |
| Gasoline trims, including TRD Off-Road | i-FORCE gasoline | Automatic | Double Cab | Gasoline Double Cab 2024 - 2026 [1][4] |
| Gasoline trims with manual transmission | i-FORCE gasoline | 6-speed iMT | Varies by trim | Contact us to check fitment [1][4] |
Which 3W Floor Mats Fit Your Toyota Tacoma?
Choosing the right floor mats starts with your Tacoma's model year and powertrain. We offer three sets for Toyota Tacoma Double Cab trucks, with different options for hybrid, gasoline and older models ([3]).
Here's a quick look at what's available:
| Our floor mats | Model years | Transmission | Available options |
| Tacoma Hybrid (Double Cab) | 2024-2026 | Not specified | Front and rear floor mats [5] |
| Tacoma Gasoline (Double Cab) | 2024-2027 | Automatic | Front and rear floor mats, 5 ft bed mat [4] |
| Tacoma Double Cab | 2016-2023 | Automatic | Front and rear floor mats, optional double-layered front mats [6] |
For the 2024 - 2026 Tacoma TRD Pro and Trailhunter, 3W hybrid Double Cab floor mats cover both the front and rear footwells ([5]).
Need protection for the truck bed as well? We have a separate 5 ft truck bed mat option listed for gasoline Tacomas. If you own a hybrid model, contact us to check whether the bed mat will fit your truck ([4])([5]). If you drive a TRD Pro and want to protect the bed as well, contact us to check compatibility before ordering.
3W also carry floor mats for 2016 - 2023 Tacoma Double Cab models, including older TRD Pro trucks. These are listed for automatic transmissions, so if yours has a manual gearbox, get in touch with us to confirm the fit ([6]).
Why Choose Custom-Fit TPE Floor Liners for Your Tacoma?
Mud and water can easily get past the edges of a regular floor mat, especially after a day on the trails. Once they reach the carpet, cleaning becomes a lot more work. Our custom-fit Tacoma floor liners follow the shape of the footwells, with raised edges that help keep dirt and spills contained ([7]).
3W use Thorex™ TPE, a flexible material with a rubber-like feel, to make car floor liners. It can handle muddy boots, daily use and changes in temperature without giving off unpleasant odors. According to our material specifications, Thorex™ TPE stays odor-free from -4°F to 167°F and contains no PVC or phthalates ([7]). Our Tacoma hybrid liners are also certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) ([5]).
Fit is especially important if you regularly take your Tacoma off-road. A liner that follows the floor's contours leaves fewer gaps where sand, mud and water can reach the carpet. Universal mats may cost less, but their generic shape doesn't always provide the same coverage ([7]).
How Do 3W Tacoma Floor Liners Perform in Real Life?
How easy are our Tacoma floor liners to clean after a muddy drive? AllOutdoor put them to the test in a 2017 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab, using the truck for two weeks in Minnesota's spring weather, with plenty of rain, dust and mud ([8]).
The reviewer found that mud stayed inside the raised edges, keeping it away from the carpet. Cleaning was simple, too. After removing the liners, a quick rinse with a garden hose was enough to wash away the dirt, without any scrubbing ([8]).
The mats also stayed in place throughout the test, even though the Tacoma had factory retention anchors only on the driver's side. There were a couple of minor complaints: the instructions for the passenger-side caps weren't very clear and dirt remained visible on the liner surface until it was washed off ([8]).
It's worth mentioning that the review covered a 2017 Tacoma over just two weeks. While the results give a useful idea of how our liners fit and clean up, they don't tell us how the newer TRD Pro versions will hold up after years of off-road driving ([8]).
Which Floor Mats Fit the Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro?
The Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro has a lot in common with the Tacoma TRD Pro, including Toyota's i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. However, the two SUVs have different floor layouts, so they need their own floor mat sets ([1])([3])([9]).
For the 2025 and 2026 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro, 3W hybrid floor mats are the right option. 3W also carry a separate set for gasoline models from those years, along with floor mats for older 2013-2024 4Runners. All three sets are designed for five-seat vehicles ([3]).
Both the 2025 - 2026 gasoline and the hybrid 4Runner listings include floor mats, a trunk mat and a seat back protector. The gasoline set also has a double-layered first-and-second-row option that the hybrid set doesn't ([3]).
Already have 3W floor mats for your Tacoma? They won't be suitable for the 4Runner. Even though both TRD Pro models share the same hybrid powertrain, you'll need liners designed specifically for your vehicle ([1])([3])([9]).
What Do Toyota Tacoma Floor Liners Actually Protect?
Our Tacoma floor liners cover the front and rear footwells, helping keep mud, sand and spilled water away from the carpet ([4])([5]). However, they won't protect every part of your truck's interior. Seats, door sills and the truck bed need separate protection.
Here's what each area needs:
| Area | Covered by floor liners? | Protection needed |
| Front footwells | Yes | Front floor liners [5] |
| Rear footwells | Yes | Rear floor liners [5] |
| Seats and upholstery | No | Seat covers |
| Door sills | No | Sill protectors |
| Tacoma 5 ft bed | No | Separate bed mat, currently listed with our gasoline set [4] |
| 4Runner cargo area | No | Cargo liner, available with our 2025 - 2026 gasoline 4Runner set [3] |
Proper installation is just as important as choosing the right mats. Always remove your factory floor mats before installing new liners. Stacking mats or using ones that don't fit properly can interfere with the pedals, creating a safety risk ([10]). Once installed, make sure the liners are secure and that the brake and accelerator pedals can move freely.
Before ordering, double-check your Tacoma's specifications. Our gasoline mats aren't suitable for hybrid TRD Pro or Trailhunter models, and Double Cab liners won't fit an XtraCab. If your Tacoma has a manual transmission, contact us to confirm compatibility with the automatic-only listings ([4])([5])([6]).
What to Check Before Ordering Tacoma Floor Mats
Two Tacomas from the same year can need different floor mats. To avoid ordering the wrong set, check these details before buying:
Model year. Our Tacoma floor mats come in two generations: 2016 - 2023, and 2024 onwards for the current body style. Within the current generation the gasoline set covers 2024 - 2027 and the hybrid set covers 2024 - 2026, so make sure you're looking at the right generation ([3]).
Engine. Driving a 2024 - 2026 TRD Pro or Trailhunter? Both have the i-FORCE MAX hybrid engine, so our hybrid set is the one you need ([1])([5]).
Transmission. Our 2024 - 2027 gasoline mats and older 2016 - 2023 sets are listed for automatic models. For a manual Tacoma, contact us to check fitment ([4])([6]).
Cab style. Our current Tacoma liners are made for Double Cab trucks, not XtraCab models ([4])([5])([6]).
Truck bed. We have a 5 ft bed mat option in our gasoline Tacoma listing. For hybrid trucks, ask us about compatibility before ordering ([4])([5]).
Installation. Take out the factory mats first. Once the new liners are in place, check that they're secure and that nothing gets in the way of the pedals ([10]).
Not sure which set fits your Tacoma? Contact us with your model year, powertrain, transmission and cab style. We'll help you find the right option before you order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do 2024 Tacoma gasoline floor mats fit a Tacoma TRD Pro?
No. The 2024 and newer Tacoma TRD Pro comes exclusively with Toyota's i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. Our gasoline floor mats aren't designed for hybrid models, so you'll need the hybrid Double Cab set ([1])([4]).
Which 3W floor mats fit the Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter?
Our 2024 - 2026 hybrid Double Cab floor mats are the right set for the Trailhunter. This trim uses Toyota's i-FORCE MAX hybrid engine, just like the TRD Pro ([1])([5]).
Can I use 3W floor mats in a manual Tacoma?
Our gasoline Tacoma floor mats are currently listed for automatic trucks only. Have a manual? Get in touch with us before ordering, and we'll help you check whether they fit ([4])([6]).
Are Tacoma TRD Pro floor mats the same as 4Runner TRD Pro floor mats?
No. Although the two vehicles share some features, their floor layouts are different. We offer separate sets for the Tacoma and 4Runner, so make sure you choose the one designed for your vehicle ([3]).
Are TPE floor liners good for mud and sand?
Yes. Our TPE liners have raised edges that help contain mud, sand and water, making cleanup easier after a trail ride. In AllOutdoor's Tacoma review, the liners washed clean with a garden hose, without scrubbing ([7])([8]).
Do Tacoma floor liners also protect the truck bed?
No, our floor liners cover the front and rear footwells. We also have a separate 5 ft bed mat listed for gasoline Tacomas. If you drive a hybrid, check with us before ordering to make sure it fits ([4])([5]).
