Redesign Overview

Toyota unveiled the sixth-generation RAV4 for the 2026 model year, marking the most significant update to America's best-selling non-truck in nearly a decade. The new XA60 generation adopts sharper exterior styling and a completely revamped interior with improved materials. New trim levels include the off-road-oriented Woodland and the sporty GR-Sport. Kelley Blue Book named the 2026 RAV4 Compact SUV Best Buy of 2026, and Green Car Journal awarded it Green Car of the Year.

Hybrid-Only Powertrain and Efficiency

The 2026 RAV4 is the first generation to offer a fully electrified lineup, available exclusively as a hybrid (HEV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The HEV produces a combined 236 horsepower with all-wheel drive and delivers 47 mpg observed in real-world testing. The PHEV gains an 18-horsepower bump to 320 horsepower and extends electric-only range from 42 to 50 miles. Base MSRP starts at $31,900.

New Infotainment and Safety Systems

The interior features a 12.9-inch tablet-style infotainment screen on higher trims (10.5-inch standard) paired with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, running Toyota's new Arene software platform. Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 debuts on the RAV4, adding front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, and predictive curve speed control, all delivered via over-the-air updates.
